The City of Norman is set to observe the Christmas and New Year's holidays with office closures and service schedule adjustments. Residents can expect the administrative offices to close on December 24 and 25, as well as on January 1, 2026, as announced on the City of Norman official website.
On Christmas Day, December 25, the Solid Waste Division will not operate. Trash, recycling, and yard waste pickups will be delayed by one day, with Thursday’s service moved to Friday and Friday’s service moved to Saturday. This delay will also affect the following week’s schedule. Norman Public Transportation (EMBARK) will not run on Christmas Day, but Norman On-Demand will continue to operate as usual, as reported by the City of Norman.
Post-holiday waste collection in Norman will see extra refuse like giftwrap and packaging being picked up for five days after both Christmas, starting December 26th, 2025, and New Year's, running from January 2 to 6, 2026, as mentioned in their holiday notice. Details on the waste management schedules can be acquired by contacting the Solid Waste Division at 405.329.1023, as per the City of Norman.
