Last night, Norman law enforcement conducted a No Refusal DUI checkpoint, with the Norman Police Department collaborating with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, District 21 District Attorney’s Office, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The checkpoint is part of a broader effort to increase DUI enforcement during the season.
The Norman Police Department highlighted the importance of planning for a sober ride home and noted that the checkpoint operates as a no-refusal site, where anyone suspected of driving under the influence who refuses a breath test can be immediately issued a warrant for a blood test.
In a Facebook post, the department urged residents to prioritize safe transportation after holiday gatherings, stating, “If you plan to drink, please plan ahead for a sober ride home.”
