In an effort to apprehend a suspect implicated in a spate of burglaries, the North College Hill police are calling for community assistance. A series of break-ins, targeting businesses and vehicles, has put local store owners on edge, with incidents occurring near West Galbraith Road around 4 a.m. early yesterday, as per WLWT. The police are specifically asking business owners and residents within the 1800 to 2000 block of West Galbraith Road, Simpson & West Galbraith, Schollenberger Avenue, and Carpenter Drive to thoroughly review any available camera footage that may aid in the investigation.
The suspect, described as a Black male, was reportedly seen wearing gloves, a face mask, a black hoodie, and black sweatpants, accompanied by black and grey Nike shoes. He is believed to have been carrying both a flashlight and a window-breaking tool. The North College Hill police have earnestly requested that anyone with video footage, photos, or information please reach out directly to Detective Megan Whyle at (513) 521-7171 or through email at [email protected]. Surveillance pictures of the man suspected have been released, and feedback from the community could prove to be a pivotal contribution to the case.
The sense of violation and distress among business owners is palpable. "I got the call from the North College Hill police that my front door was busted out, and they were going to do a check to see if anyone was here or any visible damage when I got here. It was about 9 a.m., and that's when I saw the front door busted out, glass everywhere," Whitney Peek, owner of Peek Into Beauty, recounted in a statement obtained by Local 12. This sentiment echoes throughout the business community as they rally to safeguard their livelihoods and assist law enforcement.
Mans, the manager of the Metro T-Mobile Store, one of the establishments targeted, stated, "The video wasn’t clear to see his face, but I hope they catch him." He detailed how the suspect attempted to forcibly enter the T-Mobile store and the neighboring Ameristop, as mentioned in an interview with Fox19. The description provided by Mans matches the one released by the authorities, underscoring the importance of any visual evidence that residents might possess. As police continue their search for the individual responsible, the neighborhood remains vigilant, aware that the collective effort to review footage could lead to a significant breakthrough in the investigation.
