The operation, conducted along International Boulevard last Monday, focused on identifying victims of human trafficking and providing them with immediate support. According to a social media post from the OPD, the Vice and Child Exploitation Unit, alongside Special Resources Officers (SRO) West, spearheaded this initiative.
The experience scarred a juvenile from Portland and another native to Oakland, but now have a chance at healing and rehabilitation due to the diligent work of the OPD. These efforts are part of a larger, ongoing commitment by the police department to tackle the issue of human trafficking within Oakland.
