
Oklahoma City residents can expect a sunny and warm day today with a high approaching 75 degrees. The gentle northwest wind this morning will become variable later in the afternoon, while tonight, the skies will remain mostly clear and the temperatures will dip to a comfortable 57 degrees. A light south southeast wind is expected to pick up slightly, ranging between 5 to 9 mph in the evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the forecast predicts partly sunny conditions on Saturday with temperatures climbing to near 78. The south-southwest winds, though, will take on more strength, bringing gusts as high as 21 mph. Saturday night’s forecast suggests a mostly cloudy sky, and the low will remain around 63. A steady south wind between 10 to 13 mph could usher in gusts reaching 20 mph.
The NWS forecasts a slight cooldown on Sunday, with a high near 66 and increased winds. The south-southwest wind will shift to the north in the afternoon, possibly gusting as high as 28 mph. The evening will bring a more drastic temperature drop, as the low plummets to around 26.
As the week begins, Monday's temperatures are expected to hover with a high near 38 under partly sunny skies, and the descending cold continues into the night, dropping to approximately 23 degrees. Tuesday's conditions should clear to sunny with a somewhat warmer high of 51. The clear trend extends into Tuesday night, with lows inching up to around 32. Residents can look forward to a sunny Wednesday, with highs reaching 56 degrees, and partly cloudy conditions that night with a low of 33. As New Year's Day approaches, the forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high of around 52, according to the NWS.
