Yesterday morning, a shooting at an after-hours business on South 1st Street in San José left one man dead and three others injured. The San José Police Department reported to the scene around 3:43 AM after receiving multiple calls about the incident.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered three adult male victims with gunshot wounds, all of whom were provided immediate medical assistance and transported to local hospitals with life-threatening conditions. A fourth victim, an adult female arrived at a hospital shortly after, also suffering from a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, despite efforts, one of the male victims died from his injuries, marking this event as the city's 26th homicide of the year.

The surviving victims, two adult males and one adult female, have since stabilized and are expected to pull through. The homicide unit is investigating the shooting, trying to ascertain both motive and circumstances, which at this time remain unclear.

The identity of the deceased has not been made public, pending a release from the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner. The suspect, or suspects, involved in the shooting fled before the police arrived and are currently at large.
