A tragic collision in Lancaster County, South Carolina, claimed a life on Sunday afternoon when a driver's sedan collided head-on with a pickup truck, officials said. Per the QC News report, the accident occurred on S.C. Highway 200, close to Capricorn Road and not far from the border with North Carolina.
Authorities informed WCNC that the crash involved a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2012 Honda Accord; the latter was traveling west when the two vehicles met in a disastrous encounter. The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed it happened just after 2:30 p.m.
The driver of a Honda Accord was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WSOCTV. The Highway Patrol has not yet released the victim's name, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues investigating the incident. While the road has been cleared and traffic resumed.
