Yesterday, a single-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of N. Leffingwell Avenue and Franklin Avenue involving a Kia K5. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported that officers found the overturned gray car just before 1:30 a.m.
The crash resulted in the death of a woman, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, while another woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition. According to reports, the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Franklin Avenue when it failed to stop at the T-intersection with N. Leffingwell Avenue, striking a boulder and overturning.
Investigators have been deployed to determine the sequence of events that led to the accident. The Accident Reconstruction team is examining the scene to reconstruct how the vehicle overturned. It is currently unknown who was driving at the time of the crash.
