As Phoenix residents bid adieu to 2025 and toast to the commencement of 2026, the City of Phoenix has announced its operational adjustments for the New Year's holiday. A recent post from the  City of Phoenix's official site details city service changes that Phoenicians should note come Thursday.

Phoenix Solid Waste Management will not provide service on New Year's Day. Thursday's trash pickups move to Friday, and Friday's to Saturday. The 27th Ave. and North Gateway transfer stations will be closed, and the Public Works Customer Contact Center will be closed, though the myPHX311 portal remains available for service requests.

All Phoenix Public Library locations will be closed on Sunday, though the online catalog and eResources remain accessible. Parking meters will continue to enforce fees from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., including holidays.

Parks and recreation facilities will close early at 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve and remain closed on New Year's Day, though parks and trails will stay open. The S'edav Va'aki Museum will also be closed on Thursday.

Phoenix public transit will follow the Sunday schedule for New Year's Day, with Express and RAPID bus services paused. Dial-a-Ride will operate by reservation from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Travelers at Sky Harbor International Airport are advised to book parking in advance and allow extra time. Full transit schedules are available at ValleyMetro.org.
