The Piedmont Police Department has ended the search for 83-year-old Richard Rainey. In an unexpected turn, Police Chief Clark helped find him while traveling out of town for the holidays. Chief Clark spotted Mr. Rainey’s vehicle along the route he was expected to take to Lake Tenkiller. The Piedmont Police Department later shared on Facebook that Mr. Rainey was found and is safe.
Mr. Rainey was last expected to leave on December 17. Concern grew when he did not arrive at Lake Tenkiller as planned. The case became more hopeful when Chief Clark spotted the vehicle Mr. Rainey was known to drive—a blue Ford F-150 with a matching camper shell—after returning from out-of-town holiday travel, as reported by the Piedmont Police Department.
Piedmont Police Department asked the public for help by posting an alert on social media with a description of Mr. Rainey’s vehicle. They also entered him into the NCIC database as a missing person. Anyone with information was asked to contact local law enforcement or Piedmont Police at 405-373-1334, or call 911 in an emergency.
