Evans-Butler will assume a leadership role with Portland’s Office of Violence Prevention on January 15, 2026, as noted by the City of Portland. Director of Community Safety Stephanie Howard said, “His leadership will bolster Portland's community-centered strategies to prevent violence and support safer neighborhoods.” City officials said Evans-Butler has experience overseeing multimillion-dollar initiatives and will work with community leaders and existing violence prevention programs. Evans-Butler stated, “I’m honored to be joining the Office of Violence Prevention to lead its vital efforts to reduce gun violence and build safer, more resilient communities for the City of Portland.”
