As reported by the National Weather Service, conditions are characterized by 93% humidity and overcast skies, with the temperature holding steady at a chilly 41°F (5°C).
Wednesday's weather is expected to usher in patchy fog before noon, but it will clear up to reveal mostly sunny skies, with the temperature peaking near 47 degrees. The calm wind, however, is expected to shift, bringing rain shortly after the fog lifts the following evening. An increasing cloud cover is anticipated, culminating in rain likely after 4 am, with the forecast indicating a 60% chance of precipitation, according to the NWS.
Transitioning into Thursday and Friday, Portland residents should brace for more wet weather. Rain is projected to be consistent, with a "new precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible" on Thursday, which will flow south at around 5 mph in the afternoon with a chance of precipitation hiking up to 90%, the NWS stated. The downpour is anticipated to continue, accompanied by a comfortably higher temperature near 56 degrees by Friday, carrying a certainty of rain at 100%.
Looking towards the weekend, the relentless rainfall is slated to persist. Saturday will greet Portlanders with more rain and overcast conditions, trailing into a night of likely showers. Simultaneously, a slight temperature rise is predicted, moving closer to a high near 54 degrees before tapering off to a low around 48 degrees at night. This pattern of rainfall, accentuated by cloudy skies, is expected to continue well into the next week, with daily highs hovering near the upper 50s.
