Hawai‘i Island police arrested 49-year-old Tyson Kyle Prim in connection with a series of burglaries in the Puna and South Hilo Districts. Prim faces multiple charges, including Burglary in the 1st Degree, Theft in the 2nd Degree, and Habitual Property Crime, for alleged incidents in October 2025, according to the Hawaiʻi Police Department.
On October 20, Prim allegedly burgled a home in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision, stealing jewelry and causing entry damage. Another burglary occurred on October 29 in Hilo, where jewelry was taken from a fumigated residence, with a suspect seen fleeing in a silver Mazda SUV, as reported by the Hawaiʻi Police Department.
Last Tuesday at about 6:10 pm in the Panaewa area, Prim was arrested by the Area I Crime Reduction Unit on outstanding warrants. He was charged with two counts of Burglary in the 1st Degree, Criminal Property Damage, Habitual Property Crime, and four counts of Summons or Arrest on Probation No Bail. His bail was set at $111,000, and his initial court appearance was the next day in Hilo District Court. The Area I Criminal Investigation Section is continuing the investigation and asks anyone with information to contact Detective David Po'ohina, as stated by the Hawaiʻi Police Department.
