QuikTrip is lining up a new convenience store and gas station for El Paso's far west side, with plans aimed at 351 Redd Road, the site currently occupied by Sun City Emergency Room. If the project moves forward, it would drop another national convenience chain into the growing Redd Road corridor and could subtly shuffle how nearby businesses compete for drivers.
According to a permit application cited by the El Paso Times, architect Kim Filuk of Phoenix-based Daniel D. Filuk is listed as the applicant on a roughly $1.13 million project. The filing indicates the new QuikTrip would likely share a portion of the lot where Sun City Emergency Room now operates and would sit across Redd Road from Mimi's Day Care. The city's online permit listing does not yet identify a general contractor.
Public records from the El Paso Central Appraisal District show the 13.57-acre property at 351 Redd Road is owned by QT South LLC, with a mailing address care of QuikTrip Corporation in Tulsa. Deed history on the site shows the parcel was transferred into QT South's name earlier in 2025.
QuikTrip's footprint and community giving
QuikTrip, founded in 1958 and headquartered in Tulsa, has grown into a national player, reporting more than 1,100 stores across 19 states and over 31,000 employees. The company states that it donates about 5% of its net profits to charitable causes that include United Way and Folds of Honor, and notes that a typical new store adds around two dozen jobs, depending on the format and market. Those figures and company details are outlined by QuikTrip.
What neighbors might see next
The permit application referenced by the El Paso Times does not include a named contractor or a projected construction start, so any opening date remains a question mark for now. Details on traffic flow, parking, and site access are expected to surface later in final site plans and inspection documents as permits move through the city's review process.
For the moment, the Redd Road QuikTrip remains at the permit stage. Residents who want to keep tabs on the project can track city permit listings and property records, including the El Paso Central Appraisal District page for 351 Redd Road, to see new filings and deed updates as they appear.
