Parents and kids in Holland may have noticed a bit of construction ruckus at the local Youth Sports Complex Playground – demolition is in full swing. The staple recreational area is undergoing a significant transformation, swapping out old swings and slides for a shiny, new play structure. And yes, this renovation comes with a cherry on top: a shade umbrella to comfort those who've had a bit too much sun.
Regulars of the playground will need to find an alternate spot for the time being, as the area is expected to be off-limits for 2-3 weeks. The countdown has begun, and if all goes according to plan, the new playground will make its debut just in time for the holiday season, with an estimated opening date of December 22, as reported by the Athens-Clarke County Government website. Do note, however, timelines in construction can be as unpredictable as a game of Duck Duck Goose.
While this might be a slight inconvenience for those frequenting the complex, anticipation is building for the new fun elements promised to adorn the refreshed playground. Details on what these fun elements include, have yet, to be disclosed. But one can hope the revamp means more than just your standard jungle gym fare.
