Travelers in Bates County should plan to adjust their routes today, as Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) crews are set to replace a damaged pipe under Route BB. The work will necessitate the closure of all lanes approximately one mile north of Route D, northeast of Butler, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to MoDOT's notice.
The closure will not completely halt access; drivers will still be able to reach driveways and other entrances at either end of the work zone, but should plan to not be able to travel directly through it. While no official detours will be signposted, those familiar with local roads may want to proactively seek out alternative paths to avoid any potential delays.
Signage and message boards will be set up in the vicinity to inform drivers of the closure. In addition, MoDOT recommends checking their Traveler Information Map for the latest news on road closings and traffic impacts. Commuters in the area should remain extra vigilant and prepared for changes in their usual travel plans.
It's important to note that while the works are scheduled for December 30, unforeseen weather or scheduling conflicts could still to alter the plan. Drivers are advised to keep an eye on conditions and updates as the date approaches and to plan accordingly for any adjustments that might become necessary.
