The Rowan County Animal Shelter has just rolled out its event schedule for the beginning of 2026, and it seems they are starting off the new year with a focus on community engagement and pet adoption. According to a social media post from the shelter, they will be launching a Doggie Day Out Pilot Program next Monday, following a closure on New Year's Day.
Perhaps the most striking feature on the calendar is the two adoption events offering a significant 80% discount, slated for next Saturday and again on January 24th. Such events are an effort to find homes for the shelter's numerous furry inhabitants, making it more financially accessible for individuals and families considering adoption. The shelter will also be closed in observance of the Martin Luther King holiday, spanning Saturday, January 17th and Monday, January 19th, as they honor the legacy of the civil rights leader.
The full schedule is available on the shelter's social media platform, with the calendar of events posted here. For further details, the community is encouraged to visit their website or to reach out directly to the shelter located at 160 Adoption Way, Salisbury NC, or through their contact number at 704-216-7768.
