Yesterday morning, a tragic incident unfolded on the streets of Sacramento, leaving one man dead after an apparent hit-and-run. According to a social media post by the Sacramento Police Department, officers arrived at the scene near Stockton Boulevard and Broadway following reports of a person down in the roadway at around 4:30 a.m. The victim, an adult male, was found with life-threatening injuries but despite efforts by emergency response teams, he was pronounced dead on the scene.
The severity of the situation prompted an intensive investigation by Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators, who took control upon arrival. They worked thoroughly to process the scene, collect evidence, and record interviews with witnesses in hope of piecing together the moments leading to the man's death. At this time, the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation, and there is no suspect information available to release.
The responsibility of identifying the victim falls to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, which will disclose the individual's identity once next-of-kin notifications have been completed.
