The City of Saint Paul is grappling with its 14th homicide of the year after a woman was found dead with a gunshot wound. According to a social media post by the Saint Paul Police Department, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on the 500 block of Broadway Street last Friday afternoon, upon receiving a call that a woman had been shot. The initial findings indicate the tragic event may have occurred the prior day, on December 11.
Upon arrival at the scene, authorities came upon a grim tableau: a deceased adult female lay with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. A firearm, potentially linked to the grisly incident, was found and secured by the officers, as detailed by the Saint Paul Police Department. The police are now actively hunting for a suspect, the details of whom have yet to surface as the investigation continues in the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood.
The identity of the woman has not been disclosed pending the autopsy results, which will be performed by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
