The Colma Police Department, taking to social media, recounted the incident that involved two San Francisco residents, Elizsapeta Faataui and Seuiolotoi Ufau, in a post updating the public on the latest "Misdemeanor Monday" feature. According to the Colma Police Department's account, the officers were dispatched to the Target at 5001 Junipero Serra Boulevard on December 18 at approximately 7:44 PM.
Responding to the theft report, the police swiftly located a black Honda, allegedly used by the two women to exit the retail lot quickly. The officers managed to stop the vehicle not distant from the scene, at the intersection of Junipero Serra and Serramonte Boulevards, and began to engage with the suspects. As described in the police report, the driver, initially argumentative, resisted officers' efforts to detain her, and a physical struggle ensued before she was eventually handcuffed. Her companion complied without incident.
Following the altercation, both Faataui and Ufau were positively identified by Target's Loss Prevention Officer as the individuals involved in the theft. It was determined that they had stolen merchandise totaling $312.22. Faataui, 23, was arrested for shoplifting and conspiracy to commit a crime. She was issued a citation and released with a promise to appear in court. Ufau, 26, faced similar charges of shoplifting and conspiracy, but also was charged with obstructing or resisting arrest. She was booked into San Mateo County Jail.
