
In a recent crackdown on illegal weapons possession, Santa Rosa Police's Special Enforcement Team (SET), alongside Gang Crime and Narcotics Detectives, served a search warrant in Rohnert Park that led to the arrest of two individuals. According to a social media post from the Santa Rosa Police Department, authorities detained 21-year-old Luis Pelayo Ortega and 22-year-old Nathan Berntsen on the 6600 block of Redwood Drive during the operation that unfolded on Tuesday at approximately 11:23 AM.
During the service of the search warrant, Ortega was discovered armed with a loaded, unregistered Glock 19, 9mm pistol concealed in his waistband. A further search revealed additional ammunition and another 9mm pistol. Berntsen was found in possession of metal knuckles, which are illegal to carry.
Both men were booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on respective felony charges: Ortega for possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a concealed firearm, and Berntsen for the possession of metal knuckles.
