As Sevier County prepares for the festive holiday season, officials have announced changes to their operating hours in observation of Christmas. According to a release profiled on Sevier County's official website, the Sevier County Courthouse, along with other County Government Offices, and the Sheriff’s Administrative Offices will be signing off early on Christmas Eve.
To be precise, the doors will shutter at the stroke of noon on Wednesday, December 24. Caught in the holiday spirit, these offices will not resurface until Monday, following an extended weekend that includes Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26. The county residents adjusting their schedules will need to keep in mind these altered timelines.
Furthermore, the Sevier County announcement has outlined adjustments for the local Convenience Centers as well. For those looking to discard their festive refuse or embrace clutter before Santa's arrival, all 10 Residential Convenience Centers will offer their services from 8 AM to 12 PM on the eve of the big day.
Meanwhile, those with a bit more waste to handle can turn to the Center View Multipurpose Convenience Center, which will grant access two hours longer, until 2 PM. The Centers will fold back into their regular schedules post-Christmas, with only the day of December 25 standing as a barrier to their operations. Citizens planning to use the Convenience Centers during the holidays should mark their calendars accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
It's a season of merriment and cheers, but also a time when counties, like households, readjust their hours to align with yuletide festivities. As we head into this period of closure and celebration, Sevier County residents can find solace in the fact that normalcy will return as the holiday wrapping paper settles and the new year inches closer.
