Scheduled for December 20, the event will be hosted from Noon to 2:00 p.m. at Union Valley Baptist Church. Parents and children in Shelby County are invited to join the festivities where each child is promised a special gift for the season. The giveaway is a first-come, first-served event, urging families to arrive early to ensure they take part before supplies run out. Each child, who must be present, will receive one gift.
"For eight years, this tradition has become an accessible staple for families. Our toy giveaway uplifts and provides a sense of unity, Christmas spirit, and joy to families and children in our community," said Commissioner Mickell Lowery in a statement obtained by the county's release. He is joined by Will Richardson in this endeavor, sharing a common vision to uplift the community during the holiday season.
