
Early morning in Sherborn, Massachusetts, firefighters responded to a significant blaze that decimated a 3-car detached garage and threatened a nearby residential duplex. Boston 25 News reported that upon arrival, fire personnel were met with a structure fully involved in fire, with several vehicles also caught in the inferno. A second alarm was issued to manage the volume of fire, summoning mutual aid from surrounding areas.
Protecting the duplex with hose streams, firefighters, fighting the garage, which was already a total loss, focused their efforts on the living quarters. After safeguarding the residential structure, crews directed their attention to extinguishing the garage fire. According to NBC Boston, the fire consumed several hours of firefighting efforts before it was brought under control.
The garage, deemed a total loss, suffered considerable destruction with damages estimated at $400,000. Thankfully, the adjacent duplex managed to escape the blaze unscathed. Officials confirmed that there were no physical injuries to any residents or firefighters as a consequence of the fire.
As for the origin of the fire, currently under active examination by the Sherborn Fire Department and the state police assigned to the State Fire Marshal's office, remains undetermined.
