The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported a firearm seizure following a traffic stop in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood, possibly linked to earlier gunfire incidents. In a Facebook post, the department said the routine stop led to the arrest of three individuals—an 18-year-old and two 17-year-olds. The department added, "Our officers are always working to keep you safe."
The SLMPD Crime Lab confirmed that the seized firearm matches shell casings found earlier, using ShotSpotter technology. K9 Admiral assisted in the recovery process, which played a key role in the department’s operations.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department emphasized the significance of removing the weapon from the streets, stating, "St. Louis is safer today with this gun off the streets." Officers credited their routine traffic patrols and ongoing efforts for helping maintain public safety.
