The City of St. Louis has made emergency shelter beds available for residents in need from 6 p.m. yesterday through Tuesday at 9 a.m. According to a Facebook post, walk-ins are accepted at the shelters until 9 p.m.; after that, individuals are advised to contact the United Way 211 Helpline by dialing 211.

The Peter & Paul – Jugan Shelter at 3225 N. Florissant Ave. will be open for single men, single women, and families seeking refuge from the cold. In Central City, the Biddle Housing Opportunities Center at 1212 N. 13th St. will serve single men only. The Peter & Paul – Kingshighway Shelter at 3205 S. Kingshighway Blvd. will accept single men and women but will not operate during Monday daytime hours. If a shelter reaches capacity, transportation will be provided to another facility with available space.

The city has set up rally points for transportation to shelters between 5 and 7 p.m. These include the Urban League Women’s Business Center at 4401 Natural Bridge Ave. and the newly opened Wellston Loop Community Development Corporation at 1522 Hodiamont Ave. Additionally, Centenary United Methodist Church at 1610 Olive St. will serve Central City, and Loughborough Commons Parking Lot at 1020 Loughborough Ave. will serve South City.
