Tragedy struck the Tempe Marketplace on Dec. 1 when a meeting to complete an online transaction ended in violence and death. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the incident occurred in the parking lot near RoadRunner Sports at McClintock Drive and Rio Solado Parkway around 11 a.m. The male victim, who has not been identified, was with his girlfriend when he was fatally shot by the suspect, who then fled the scene.
The 12 News reported that police responded to the scene where Sky12 footage showed multiple officers and a cordoned area with police tape. Witnesses were immediately interviewed, and the Real Time Operations Center was tapped for information on potential suspects, but the perpetrator remains at large.
As the investigation continues, the Tempe Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward. Individuals with knowledge on the case are being urged to call 480-350-8311 and assist in the pursuit of justice, as per 12 News.
