The quiet streets of Swainsboro, Georgia became the focal point of a tragic homicide investigation, following the discovery of Amber Nichole Fields, a 34-year-old local resident found dead in her own home. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Fields was found on the 600 block of North Coleman St. Extension after not appearing for work, raising concerns amongst her family who subsequently discovered her lifeless body. The GBI was requested by the Swainsboro Police Department to spearhead the investigation into Fields' sudden demise.
In the wake of the grim discovery made yesterday, December 8, authorities swiftly apprehended Charles Justin Davis, a 40-year-old man from Swainsboro, and charged him with a felony count of Malice Murder in connection to Fields' death. Details of the relationship between Davis and Fields, if any, have yet to be disclosed by investigators. The GBI has been actively conducting interviews with potential witnesses and encourages the public to come forward with any information that may shed light on this case, as stated in their online statement.
Further details on Fields' murder are scarce as the GBI continues their inquiries. In an effort to gather more information, the GBI has opened several channels for tips, including a confidential phone line at 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), an online submission form, and the See Something, Send Something mobile app. They are asking anyone who might have information related to this investigation to reach out through these available methods.
Once the GBI concludes their active and ongoing investigation, the case file will be turned over to the Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for review and further action.
