For those looking to step away from the traditional neighborhood school path, magnet and Special Transfer Option (STO) schools present a myriad of options. Interested families have until Jan. 31, 2026, to submit their applications through the Family Portal, accessible via FOCUS with a linked parent account.
A key thing to remember is that this is strictly a lottery process. Applying for one of these schools simply enters your student into the selection hat; a spot at the school is far from guaranteed. According to the Team Duval announcement, lottery results are set to be announced in mid-March, giving parents plenty of time to make alternative arrangements if their pick doesn't pan out.

They're planning to provide enrollment specialists who will guide participants through each step of the application process and address any lingering questions.
