Coming January 2026, Arizona innovator and Arizona Party Bike founder Robert Mayer has unveiled his latest enterprise: Tempe Boat Cruisin'—a fresh way to hit the waters of Tempe Town Lake. Mayer's partnership with the City of Tempe is charting new territory with these custom cycle boats, which promise to spice up the typical water recreation offerings in the Valley. Sailing in with a fleet where guests can enjoy both the relaxation of a boat ride and the communal effort of pedaling, Tempe Boat Cruisin' is ready to make waves as a new social fixture for the area.
Each boat in the fleet comes with the capacity to host 26 partygoers, including 12 pedal stations that give passengers the option to band together, pedaling their boat around the lake. The innovative watercraft also feature a silent, eco-friendly electric propulsion system that keeps the boat moving even when guests take a break from pedaling, as reported by Tempe.gov. Mayer, steering his brand towards a new horizon, emphasizes the interactive, social nature of the cruises, while highlighting safety and crew expertise as a cornerstone of the experience.
"Tempe Town Lake is an iconic destination, where residents and visitors alike gather daily to work, recreate and celebrate special occasions," Tempe Mayor Corey Woods was quoted marveling at the forthcoming inclusion of these cruises to the locale's repertoire. Councilmember Nikki Amberg, leading the charge on the Revitalization of Tempe Town Lake Council Subcommittee, also shared her enthusiasm, confidently projecting that the cycle boat cruises will enhance Tempe's tourism and recreational appeal.
Not only are these cruises destined for group celebrations, corporate team-building, or simply a laid-back day with friends; they also offer the perfect vessel for ASU game-day festivities, picturesque sunset excursions, and give passengers the liberty to partake in alcoholic beverages purchased from an on-site vendor. Mayer, who managed to build a bridge between recreation and teamwork via Arizona Party Bike, is betting on similar success on the watery playground of Tempe Town Lake according to Tempe.gov.
