Early this morning, a vehicle slammed into a wall and was subsequently engulfed in flames in West Miami-Dade, leading to three teenagers being hospitalized. The incident occurred around 3:45 a.m. at the intersection of Southwest 68th Street and Southwest 142nd Avenue, in the Kendall Lakes area, as reported by WSVN. Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived to find the car in flames, which they were able to quickly put out.
According to the deputies' statements, the three victims, aged between 15 and 17, had managed to extricate themselves from the car by the time the deputies arrived. The urgency of the situation became clear as rescue crews needed to promptly transport the teens to a local hospital; fortunately, they were all reported to be in stable condition. Details on what may have led to the crash have not been made available as of yet.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene and assumed control over the medical response. The car fire, which rapidly escalated to a hazardous situation, was extinguished shortly after the emergency teams arrived.
Local 10 News confirmed that the vehicle, once removed from the burning wreckage, was later towed from the scene. While the teens are currently receiving care, investigators from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office have begun to look into the accident's circumstances, which they have yet to publicly deduce.
