A high-speed crash at the intersection of Jog Road and Woolbright Road in Boynton Beach left two drivers dead early Sunday morning, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. The collision happened around 6:45 a.m. when a pickup truck barreling north on Jog Road slammed into a sedan crossing westbound on Woolbright Road, killing both men at the scene.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office identified the pickup driver as 43-year-old George Edward Armas, who deputies say was driving a 2025 GMC Sierra at a very high rate of speed when it struck the driver's side of a 2017 Audi A6 driven by 78-year-old Mark Alan Resnick, as reported by WPTV. The impact spun the Audi nearly 90 degrees before the Sierra continued over the sedan and rolled, coming to rest in the southbound lanes of Jog Road while the Audi ended up in the northbound lanes. Both Armas and Resnick died from injuries sustained in the crash, per the same account.
Deputies say impairment is considered a contributing factor in Armas's actions leading up to the crash.
