A man believed to be in his 20s and a woman believed to be in her 40s were left critically injured after their vehicles collided head-on at Southern Boulevard and Jog Road early Sunday morning. The crash happened around 6:05 a.m., and first responders arrived to find both drivers with critical injuries, with the woman airlifted by Trauma Hawk helicopter and the man taken by ambulance, both to the same trauma center.

A Dangerous Intersection Of Two Major Arterials

The crash site sits where two of the county's busiest roads meet. Southern Boulevard, also known as State Road 80, is classified as a major east-west arterial carrying heavy daily commuter traffic between western Palm Beach County communities, West Palm Beach, and Interstate 95, according to the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Organization.
