
Two incidents of shoplifting at Boston's Prudential Mall ended with arrests yesterday. Boston Police officers from District D-4 responded to reports of thefts from retailers Swarovski and Lululemon. The first suspect was apprehended after being spotted by patrolling officers, who matched her to the description provided following the Swarovski heist.
Roxana Breckner, aged 66, from Chestnut Hill, was caught with the stolen merchandise in her jacket. According to Boston Police Department's news release, she is expected to face charges for Shoplifting by Asportation in Boston Municipal Court.
A short while later, a second shoplifting event transpired at the Lululemon store, where another woman attempted to leave with multiple concealed items. She was stopped by officers as she exited the store and subsequent investigation unearthed her existing warrants for arrest on various charges.
Mirabai Berner-Lust, 37, of Boston, turned out to have a record that included Trespass, Possession of Class B, Distribute Class B, and Larceny from a Person. She was taken into custody and is anticipated to be arraigned for Shoplifting by Asportation, as well. The Boston Police Department's statement indicated that all of the stolen merchandise was recovered in both incidents.
