
Tragedy struck late Friday night near I-17 and South 7th Avenue in Phoenix when a dispute at a traffic light escalated into gun violence and a subsequent vehicular response, resulting in two fatalities. FOX 10 Phoenix reports that two motorcyclists engaged in a confrontation while stopped at the intersection, leading one to shoot the other.
According to the AZ Family, a third individual, the driver of a nearby car, saw the shooting unfold, striking the alleged gunman with their vehicle. The shooter was later detained for questioning, only to be released pending the ongoing investigation.
Both men involved in the initial altercation were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where they were pronounced dead. As of now, Phoenix Police have not released the identities of the deceased or the driver of the vehicle that hit the suspected shooter.
The area around the crime scene was shut down for several hours as investigators worked, but roadways have since been reopened.
