
Two individuals were struck by a van while crossing an intersection in Acworth, resulting in critical injuries for one, said Cobb County police. The incident occurred just after 1 p.m. last Saturday, at the crossroads of Main Street and New McEver Road, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta. Police investigations revealed that the pedestrians were walking northward within the confines of the crosswalk when they were hit by a right-turning white 2023 Mercedes Metris.
Upon impact, and the pedestrians were pushed to the eastbound lane of New McEver Road where they subsequently landed, and the vehicle ceased its motion in the same lane. One victim faced critical injuries and was promptly taken to the hospital by ambulance, while the other pedestrian, also hospitalized, is expected to survive - as further described by Atlanta News First.
Authorities have yet to disclose the identities of the injured pedestrians and the driver involved in the crash. Moreover, the police have not provided any information regarding the possibility of charges being filed against the driver.
