
Two individuals, Jamarcus Murphy, 20, and Jamahus Murphy, 18, were taken into custody on Friday evening after a shooting in North Knoxville. Both face charges including attempted first-degree murder, with Jamahus also charged for using a firearm during a dangerous felony, as reported by the Knoxville Police Department.
The Knoxville Police Department responded around 4:45 p.m. near W. Oldham Avenue and Worth Street, finding a car that had rolled down an embankment. The vehicle contained two women, one shot and the other likely injured from the crash.
Two people were shot near Worth Street and W. Emerald Avenue and were taken to UT Medical Center. According to the Knoxville Police Department on their Facebook page, the suspects fled in a black Honda Accord, which was later found at a Kroger on 6702 Clinton Highway. Jamarcus and Jamahus Murphy were charged in connection with the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
