
Authorities in Portland apprehended two suspects linked to a shooting that left a 51-year-old man injured; the event occurred yesterday in the Northeast part of the city. According to a press release from the Portland Police Bureau, the shooting happened in the 9700 Block of Northeast Glisan Street, prompting an immediate response from East Precinct Officers who arrived at the scene at about 10:53 p.m. The victim, whose injuries were deemed not life-threatening, was quickly rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
Following the initial investigation, police made successful efforts to locate and detain the individuals suspected of involvement in the shooting, at which point 18-year-old Alejandro Mandujano was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center, facing a range of charges including Attempted Murder and Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree and Unlawful Use of a Firearm. The juvenile accompanying him was also taken into custody, booked on Assault in the Third Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, demonstrating swift police action in the aftermath of the crime. A firearm, linking to the incident, was also successfully recovered as part of the evidence.
The Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST), a specialized unit within the Portland Police, is spearheading the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
