The hunt for a double murder suspect has intensified as the U.S. Marshals, in collaboration with Massachusetts State Police and the Brockton Police Department, seek the public's aid in locating Davinci Leonard, who has been accused of a fatal shooting that occurred on March 22, 2025, outside a Chipotle restaurant in Brockton, MA. The authorities have announced a reward of up to $7,500 for information leading to Leonard's capture, as announced in a press release by the U.S. Marshals.
Leonard, 23 years old, faces serious charges, including two counts of first-degree murder and various firearm offenses—indicating a scenario deeply troubling for a community grappling with violence, the repercussions of which continue to echo through the victims' families and the greater Brockton area. Leonard is described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds, and he may have altered his appearance by cutting his hair short. Authorities consider him armed and dangerous, cautioning the public against approaching him.
The incident that triggered the manhunt saw Brockton Police receiving emergency calls at 7:04 p.m. on a Saturday evening when two individuals—a 15-year-old male and an 18-year-old female—were gunned down in the vicinity of 500 Westgate Drive. Responders rushed both victims to Good Samaritan Hospital, where the young male was pronounced dead, and the female, critically wounded, was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital, only to succumb to her injuries thereafter. Detectives have since been able to identify Leonard as the prime suspect in the shooting.
An arrest warrant with authorization for nationwide extradition has been issued for Leonard out of Plymouth Superior Court.
