University City residents who've been seeing leaves piling up can rest a little easier, as the City has announced an updated leaf collection and street sweeping schedule, a move prompted by last week’s unexpected weather delays. In collaboration with Hendel Lawn Service, the City's pushing forward, adjusting dates and urging residents to make sure those leaf piles reach the curb in time for pickup.
According to a recent notice on University City's website, the updated cleanup schedule is now in effect, with each area assigned new service dates. The East Area went first, with leaf collection starting on Thursday and street sweeping following on Monday. Due to seasonal shifts, the Central and West Areas will have leaf collection beginning on December 15 and 18, respectively, and street sweeping on December 22 and 29.
However, all of this comes with a caveat – the schedule is tentative. Intervening weather events, as unpredictable as they are, might throw another wrench in the works, forcing further changes. The City is keeping an eye on the forecast and assures that it will coordinate with Hendel to relay any updates swiftly to the public.
Should residents find themselves behind on raking, Hendel Lawn Service is available for direct contact to sort out leaf pickup arrangements. The lawn service, which can be reached at (314) 882-5814, is prepared to provide assistance beyond the scheduled dates, ensuring that all leaves are collected and streets are swept, maintaining University City's appeal and order.
