Two K9 teams recently demonstrated exceptional skill in a statewide competition. In a post on its official Facebook page, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department recognized the accomplishments of Deputy McIntyre and K9 Rex, along with Deputy Kubisiak and K9 Jet, for their outstanding performance during a demanding five-week handler’s course.

Deputy McIntyre and his four-legged partner, Rex, clinched the Overall Top Dog Team Championship Belt, excelling in multiple challenges. The pair showcased their talents by securing third place not just once, but thrice—in the Narcotics Scramble, Open Area Search for Man, and Obstacle Course. They also took second place in Gunfire Around Man, distinguishing themselves among the elite K9 teams in attendance.

Not to be outdone, Deputy Kubisiak and K9 Jet displayed their keen investigative abilities by earning third place in the Building Search for Man event. The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department's post conveyed a strong sense of pride in both teams’ dedication and skill, recognising the significant training and effort required to achieve such results.

The competition brought together seasoned K9 teams from across Wisconsin to complete 11 demanding exercises designed to evaluate skills essential to daily law enforcement work. The events assessed capabilities such as narcotics detection and search operations, allowing teams to demonstrate proficiency in tasks critical to public safety. The awards recognized the extensive preparation and strong performance of the Waukesha County deputies and their K9 partners.
