The Open House will allow residents to explore proposed designs for the skate park and performance park, ask questions, and share their input directly with city planners. City officials noted that the session is part of an ongoing effort to incorporate community feedback into public recreation projects, ensuring that new facilities meet the needs and interests of local residents. Attendees can expect informational displays, concept illustrations, and staff available to discuss the plans in detail.
According to a Facebook post, the planned rebuild of the Memorial Park skate park will retain its original footprint while introducing new design elements. Concepts to be presented at the Open House draw inspiration from public squares, incorporating features such as granite ledges, steps, and blocks, similar to examples seen in Montreal, Quebec. Residents attending the event will have the opportunity to review different design options and provide feedback, helping guide the final layout of the updated skate park.
In addition to the skate park, the City of Webster Groves is inviting feedback on the proposed performance park concept. Envisioned as an outdoor stage or pavilion, the performance park is designed to support local cultural and recreational activities.
