Drivers in the Wentzville area should expect traffic delays as the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) begins lane closures on westbound I-70. According to a social media post from the City of Wentzville MO – Government, the closures are part of the Improve I-70 Project. From yesterday through today, a single lane will be closed from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m., affecting ramps to and from I-70 at David Hoekel Parkway, with potential delays and detours for motorists.
Commuters near Wentzville Parkway should also note that starting Thursday, Linn Avenue at East Pearce Boulevard will be closed for the installation of a new traffic signal, marking the first phase of the project. Traffic normally using this route will be redirected to Wall and West Koenig streets. A detour map and additional information are available on the City of Wentzville’s official website to help drivers navigate the closures.
The closures are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing travel for Missouri motorists. While lane reductions and detours may cause temporary delays, the work is intended to improve roadway efficiency and safety. MoDOT advises drivers to plan ahead and exercise patience during construction periods.
Wentzville residents and regular travelers on these routes are advised to allow extra travel time and exercise caution when passing through construction zones, following posted detours as needed.
