
In the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, a fatal incident occurred early Monday morning after a black sedan collided with a parked car and a semi-truck, according to ABC 7 Chicago. The accident, which happened at about 1:30 a.m. in the 3800 block of West Diversey Avenue, resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to another.
Police detailed that the black sedan was westbound when the driver lost control, struck a parked car, and then veered across the road striking the back of a semi-truck that was traveling eastbound, as NBC 5 Chicago reported; the passenger of the sedan was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene, and the driver was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was last listed in good condition. The crash led to significant street closures and bus reroutes throughout the early morning hours.
The driver of the semi-truck, which the sedan hit from behind, was unharmed and declined medical treatment. Following the accident, local authorities began a detailed investigation to determine the cause and assess any potential citations, with updates on the situation to be provided as they become available.
