In the early hours of this morning, Worcester Police Department officials responded to an altercation at a local Shrewsbury Street fast-food establishment, as detailed in a statement on their official Facebook page. The incident, which occurred at approximately 1:43 AM, involved a male driver who became a subject of police scrutiny after refusing to move his vehicle in the drive-thru line.
Identified as Aaron Wade, age 27, from Worcester, the man in question resisted multiple attempts by the police to get him to move his vehicle, further complicating an already tense situation and upon approaching the vehicle the officers noted a visible knife under the driver's seat, which eventually led to Wade’s arrest. During an inventory of his car, officers made the discovery of a green satchel containing a black firearm, which was later confirmed to be stolen. Wade also did not possess the necessary license to carry such a weapon, as reported by the Worcester Police Department.
The Worcester Police Department has subsequently charged Wade with a slew of offenses, including: Carrying a Firearm without a License, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon (x2), Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, disturbing the peace, and Disorderly Conduct.
