A fatal shooting at a Miramar gas station Tuesday evening left a 19-year-old dead and two others injured, authorities said. The Miramar Police Department responded to a Sunoco station at Pembroke Road and DeSoto Drive after a verbal argument escalated into a shooting.

The victim, identified as 19-year-old Christian Corea, was one of three people hit during the shooting. According to WSVN, the incident began when an individual approached a black Mercedes-Benz, leading to a verbal dispute that quickly escalated into gunfire. Miramar Police spokesperson Janice McIntosh described the events as a rapid escalation from argument to shooting.

Another victim, who was part of the initial confrontation, escaped the scene and was later hospitalized by a friend. A third individual, an innocent bystander, was also injured and taken to a trauma center for treatment, as per CBS News. Police are still searching for a fourth person described as slim-built and wearing a gray hoodie, as investigators work to reconstruct the events leading up to the shooting.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Officers have closed surrounding streets and are examining the Mercedes, which sustained multiple bullet holes, along with the nearby pump area for evidence. Miramar Police spokesperson Janice McIntosh noted that authorities believe another person fled the scene and could provide key information. The department is asking witnesses or anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
