The Yuba County Sheriff's investigation into the grisly discovery of a body being burned near Parks Bar Bridge in December has led to an arrest. According to a report by ABC10, evidence gathered at the scene and subsequent computer-aided dispatch searches helped deputies to swiftly identify and later arrest 50-year-old Vincent Dorell Ciulei in connection with the crime. Ciulei, who is the nephew of the 82-year-old victim, Constance Laurel, has been charged with arson, mutilation of a corpse, and destruction of evidence.
Details point to an almost cinematic sequence of events with detectives establishing surveillance only to catch Ciulei as he was preparing to possibly leave the area once and for all. After his arrest, multiple search warrants were served, unearthing additional evidence that the Sheriff's office said corroborate the timeline of the incident.
