In a terse social media post that cuts straight to the chilling event, the Honolulu Police Department reported a robbery that occurred in the heart of Waikīkī. It seems that last Saturday, at around 8 p.m., a food stand became the target of an armed assailant. The Honolulu Police Department's official report details how a 31-year-old woman was accosted by a gun-wielding man as she was closing up for the day, near the intersection of Holomoana Street and Kahanamoku Street.
The victim complied with the assailant's demands, handing over a black fanny pack filled with the day's earnings. The suspect, whose description has been shared with the public, forebodingly clad in a ski mask, gray hoodie, and baggy blue jeans, brandished a black handgun with a red laser and, after the deed, vanished into the night toward the harbor. The police confirm that no physical injuries were sustained during the incident.
HPD continues to dig into the details of the case. They ask that anyone with information step forward, offering up two means of contact: either by calling 911 or through CrimeStoppers at (808) 955-8300. Public cooperation could prove pivotal, and as such, the authorities urge those who know something to say something.
