Battle Ground, Washington, is grappling with a disturbing case as local police have arrested 41-year-old Christopher Lee Morrissey on allegations of third-degree rape of a child. The suspect, Morrissey, was taken into custody after an investigation that began a year prior involving a 14-year-old victim, as reported by KATU.
The Battle Ground Police Department has released a photo of the suspect to the public to help generate leads. Authorities believe there may be additional victims due to Morrissey’s long presence in Southwest Washington and urge anyone with relevant information to come forward, KATU reports.
The Battle Ground Police Department confirmed Morrissey’s arrest. He was booked into Clark County Jail on Wednesday, KOIN reports.
Battle Ground police said detectives continue to investigate the case and believe there may be others with relevant information, including potential additional victims. KOIN also reported the statement.
