
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office announced that the body of a woman missing since January 2 was recovered from the North Fork of the American River. Dive teams from the Placer County Sheriff's Office and the CAL FIRE NEU/PCFD Technical Rescue Team searched, ending days of coordinated efforts involving multiple agencies.
The woman was last seen hiking with her dog near Colfax. Her dog was found alone by 2:45 p.m. on the Friday she went missing, prompting a large-scale search. Authorities located her vehicle, phone, and a dog bowl near the trail, Hoodline reported, helping them reconstruct her last known movements.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office expressed condolences after the body of a woman missing since Friday, January 2, was recovered. Authorities extended sympathies to her family and loved ones.
